In 1970, then-President Richard “Tricky Dick” Nixon signedthe Controlled Substances Act. This act effectively outlawed cannabis and made it a Schedule 1 drug, placing it nextto drugs such as heroin, methamphetamine, and LSD. Since its signing, the CSA created a stigma around the plant that’s still felt today. With Federal classification on the verge of change. We went back to where it all started.
